"Path to Pilar"

If you look very closely you will see a tiny little path off in the canyon...this used to be a road that you could drive to get to Pilar (a little south of Taos).  The road got washed out a few years ago but you can still hike it.

18" x 24"  original oil painting  $950.00

"Purple Sage II (at sunset)

I have painted this painting before only it was much smaller and more abstract.  An "admirer" saw it and asked if it could be painted again larger and possibly with sunset colors added into the sky.  This was actually a very fun project to work on and I'm really happy with the outcome!

16" x 20" original oil painting  $750.00

"Along the Rio Pueblo"

Another winter willow painting...I can't help myself....seem to sneak one in every winter.  There's hardly any snow this year but the willows along the rivers are doing their "red" thing regardless.

11" x 14"  original oil painting  $350.00

"San Cristobal Corner"

Live on location is what it's all about!
This summer I entered my first ever plein air painting event!  First day we were at Wild Rivers which I will post that one later, and the second day was our choice..always wanted to paint this old house and so that's where I went...painted alongside another painter from Minnesota.

11" x 14"  original oil painting  $350.00

"Abiquiu View"

This su,mmer I was able to get away for a few days and camp along the Chama River down in Abiquiu, which is where Georgia O' Keefe lived and loved to paint..  No wonder - there's endless inspiration!  This scene was literally right outside the tent window.

9"" x 12"  original oil painting  $250.00

"Dixon Blossoms"

It's always a pleasure to be invited to paint at Marilyn and Dave's house along the river in Rinconada (just south of Taos).  I can't remember a year where there were so many blossoms on her fruit trees - for once they weren't "zapped" by a spring frost.

"Dixon Chicks" SOLD

Well, for some reason this is my all time favorite..I went to Dixon to paint lilacs and couldn't find any that were blooming...so maybe I trespassed but I explored around and ah.laah!!  Wow!!  An irresistable vista..oh the joys of that!  Great Day!

"Dixon Land"

A little old town south of Taos, Dixon is filled with many painting options.  You could spent a whole day here and not run out of ideas....because I love the run down old stuff....I painted this old homestead.

"Bloom N Shine" SOLD

In tribute to the beautiful gardens at the Blumenschein Museum in here in Toas, I did this painting.  A little bit overgrown over the years, it's still a great place to capture the spirit of Taos and it's founding fellow artists who loved to work here.

"Winter in Hondo" SOLD

Well...I like to go on drives onto roads I've never been on before and try to get a little bit "lost?"  Anyway I was driving and snapping pics and I chose this scene to paint just because of all of the slush and mud and feeling happy for whoever lives here because despite the elements......it's a beautiful homestead!

"Capricorn Moon"

There was a so called "Capricorn Moon" happening and when I went outside I could see this amazing glow coming from my neighbor's house and I was captivated to catch it.  There was snow on the ground and everything seemed to glow in the night.

"Valle Escondido Pond"

Kevin McPherson is a famous artist who has a home up in the mountains with a view of this alpine forest and awesome pond.  I have painted here many times and am always in "awe".

"Fall Foliage in El Salto" SOLD

Fall is really bright here with all of the cottonwood trees turning yellow..everywhere!!  Not to mention the chamisa!  I was on my way to the Ski Valley to paint but stopped miles before because I saw this view.

"Taos Balloon Rally" SOLD

Every fall the balloons come!  I was commissioned to do this piece for a special friend who has a friend in the balloon industry.

"Ranchos Plaza Lilacs" SOLD

I was on a mission this particular day to paint the Ranchos Church...but when I turned and looked behind me I couldn't resist the lilacs blooming outside of the Plaza Grill.

9" x 12"  original oil painting  $250.00

"Seco Church" SOLD

Have painted this old church many times before and many more times to come!  This piece found a new home right here in Taos during the Studio Tour...I also was commissioned to paint "La Copilla", another old church just south of here.

12" x 12"  original oil painting  $200.00

"View from John Dunn Bridge" SOLD

This painting was basically a "study" for another piece but found a new home regardless over the Labor Day weekend Studio Tour.

"Morning on the Rim" SOLD

I painted this painting from the visitor's center just across the gorge bridge..early morning.  There were a bunch of big horned sheep there as well checking me (and my painting friends) out.  Took photos of them and will some day do another painting and paint them in!

14" x 18"  original oil painting  $550.00

"Turquoise Trail Church" SOLD

I guess I have a thing for painting old churches around this area.  This painting found a loving home in Nashville, Tennessee recently.  A nice little memory of a trip to the southwest.

11" x 14"  original oil painting  $350.00

"Bent Street Winter" SOLD

I painted this from a photograph I took one crazy cold morning on my way to work at The Bent Street Deli..I kind of got a "warm feeling" from how the sun was heating up the adobe walls.
